Pakistan Latest News: In the year 2019, a Hindu teacher based in Sindh province of Pakistan was arrested on charges of blasphemy. After legal action that lasted for almost 5 years, the result of this case has now come to light. The court has declared the Hindu teacher innocent and acquitted him. While giving its decision, the court said that sufficient evidence has not been found of the allegations against the teacher, hence the court decides to acquit him.
According to Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune, while giving the verdict, the court said that the prosecution has failed to establish reasonable doubt against the accused. Despite the court’s verdict, the teacher’s relatives and friends are worried about his safety. He believes that Pakistani fanatics may target him despite his acquittal by the court.
Giving a statement on this matter, Sindh Human Rights Commission board member Sukh Dev Hemnani said that in 2019, false allegations of blasphemy were leveled against a Hindu teacher. Because of this he had to remain behind the bars for 5 years. Finally today he has got justice by the court and he has been acquitted of the false case.
Sukh Dev Hemnani further said that after his acquittal, we are making security arrangements for him and his family. According to Hemnani, a wrong information against the Hindu teacher can become a big problem for him as well as his family members.
A student had complained to his father against the Hindu teacher. The student had reportedly told his father that his teacher had used some derogatory words against Prophet Muhammad. After which this matter became very serious and the teacher had to go to jail for 5 years.
